Finn Mertens

In Adventure Time, a human named Finn the Human Mertens (also known as Pen in the original short and identified as P-G-8-7 Mertens) is the protagonist.

It is revealed in "Min and Marty" that his father, Martin Mertens, and his mother, Minerva Campbell, have been living on Hub Island (one of the islands outside the Land of Ooo).Martin, who has been a con artist for many years, is forced to flee with baby Finn while Minerva is at work by an old foe.In the end, Finn and Martin are separated as a result of the Guardian attacking their raft, with Finn being sent adrift towards Ooo and Martin disappearing.

A very young Finn ended up alone in a forest on Ooo, as shown in Memories of Boom Boom Mountain.Jake went "boom boom" (Finn's word for feces) on a leaf and fell down. He cried until his parents, Joshua and Margaret, rescued him from the wilderness and brought him home.Finn was raised alongside Jake, who was Finn's adopted brother, along with Jermaine.
