India's national flag (Hindi: Tiranga) is made up of the tricolor of India saffron, white, and India green, and at its center is the Ashoka Chakra, a 24-spoke wheel in navy blue.The term "tricolour" is almost always used in India to refer to the Indian national flag, which is based on the Swaraj flag, a flag designed by Pingali Venkayya for the Indian National Congress.In time, the flag became the national flag of India.On 15 August 1947, it was declared the official flag of the Dominion of India. The flag was adopted in its present form during a meeting of the Constituent Assembly held on 22 July 1947.
